Temporary Water Disinfectant Conversion Ending

Thank you for your patience and understanding these past four weeks as we initiated a TCEQ approved temporary disinfectant conversion. This temporary change in disinfectant helps maintain the water system, improves year-round water quality, and prevents the potential bacterial growth in our pipes during the hot summer months.

Beginning Tuesday, April 16, Public Works Utility Division staff will convert back to the chloramine disinfectant. You will see fire hydrant flushing throughout the city as we convert back to the chloramine disinfectant. The water will no longer have the slick feel, and you may experience a change in the taste and odor of the water. After this time, the tap water will return to normal.

Thank you again for your patience as we work to ensure your drinking water is safe and meets or exceeds the standards set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and maintains our Superior Public Water Supply rating.
