November Ballot Includes Several Local Measures

San Rafael, CA - Marin County residents will have the opportunity November 8 to vote on local measures that include county, school, municipal and district issues. Written arguments for and against the measures may be filed before 4:30 p.m. Monday, August 22.

The measures on the November ballot include:

  • Marin County Free Library special tax for library services and facilities
  • A special tax renewal in Ross Elementary School District for educational purposes
  • Adoption of a city charter and real property transfer tax ordinance in the City of Belvedere
  • A sales tax in the City of Larkspur for disaster preparedness and essential city services
  • A special tax for library services and a sales tax for general purposes in the Town of San Anselmo
  • A special tax for paramedic services in the Town of Corte Madera, Town of Fairfax and County Service Area No. 27
  • An initiative relating to cannabis business and a measure adjusting an existing sales tax in the City of Sausalito
  • Adjusting the appropriations limit in Inverness Public Utility District and establishing an appropriations limit in Stinson Beach County Water District
  • An initiative calling for a special tax in Inverness Public Utility District to improve fire protection measures
  • A special tax, issuance of bonds, and establishment of the appropriations limit in Community Facilities District No. 2022-1 (Tiburon Peninsula Open Space) to acquire the Martha Property at Easton Point.

Arguments for or against the county, school, and district measures are filed with the Elections Department by the August 22 deadline. Deadlines could be different for municipal measures that are handled by town or city clerks. Submission and signature forms are required at the time of filing.

The list of measures and information about filing arguments can be found at www.marinvotes.org. Documents are available for public examination for 10 days from the filing date. A sample ballot and information guide will be mailed to registered voters the final week of September, and official ballots will be mailed starting October 10 to all active registered voters. Allow five to seven days for delivery.

The Elections Department is in Suite 121 of the Marin Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
