Art Exposed: Florence's Rotating, Outdoor Art Gallery

The Art Exposed Rotating Outdoor Art Gallery Program is a dynamic bi-annual rotation of Public Art that enhances the livability of our community, creates a unique sense of place, and enhances community identity, while also providing an increased economic impact for the Community & Artists. The City of Florence Public Arts Program is excited to announce new additions to the "Art Exposed" Rotating Outdoor Gallery program in Old Town that will be coming soon.

Art Exposed offers the community a chance to view interesting, "fresh" artwork every two years at a low cost, while providing artists with an opportunity to display and sell their work to a wide audience. Due to the success of the program, the City has expanded Art Exposed to include three more locations for a total of eight in the Old Town area: Veterans Memorial Park (New), River Roasters (Returning), Rain Garden (Returning), Interpretive Center East (Returning), Gazebo Park Plaza (Returning), Gazebo Park Planter aka Secret Garden (New), Maple Street Park (Returning), Florence Area Chamber of Commerce Lawn (New).

Following the Call for Art deadline on July 15, 2022, the City of Florence's Public Arts Committee (PAC) did a general review of applications at their July 25th meeting at 4:00pm.

The discussion about the art and selections of pieces for this 2022 program will be at the August 22nd meeting at 5:30pm. The Public is encouraged to attend and submit public comments. All PAC meetings are open to the public.

The City and the Public Arts Committee volunteers would like to thank the second round artists who participated in Art Exposed Program: "Low-Poly Open Heart (RIDE)" by M.L. Duffy, "Nursing Doe" and "Ravens" by Steve Tyree, and "Three Blue Spires" by Gerry Newcomb. Their work has become a part of our community culture and we wish the artists the very best!

New art for this program, which has not been selected, is expected to be installed in Autumn 2022.
