City of Rockford’s Rockford Ready Initiative Hosts A Series of Town Hall Meetings in April

Rockford Ready, led by the City of Rockford's Health and Human Services Department, announces a series of community town halls organized by the University of Illinois Chicago, a Rockford Ready partner, to inform the public of Rockford Ready's progress since July 2021. These town hall meetings will provide an opportunity for Rockford residents to learn about the health literacy initiative and to engage with community leaders and partners.

"From the beginning of this project, trusted voices from the community have helped make key decisions about our strategies and activities. These gatherings are part of our commitment to share the data collected and the research findings developed by our evaluation partner, UIC College of Medicine over the last three years from our city-wide health literacy initiative. Although we are nearing the end of the initial grant funding cycle, which began this important, collaborative project, we know that the work is not over," said Anqunette Parham, Health and Human Services, City of Rockford. "I invite all local residents to join Rockford Ready at one of the three upcoming town halls where we will reflect on the impact of our efforts and chart the course forward. Together, we'll shape the future of health literacy in our city and empower residents to lead healthier lives."
