Paranormal film crew returns to the Bellwood Manor House

RICHMOND, Va. -

The Twisted Paranormal Society film crew returned to Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia to revisit what goes bump in the night! The team, comprised of paranormal investigators and technical equipment experts from Virginia and West Virginia, filmed at various locations throughout DSCR August 25 - 27, 2023.

The Society's founders, Lyle and Tonna Lotts, made their first visit to DSCR in 2017 with the hopes of encountering the ghostly presences that have been rumored to exist by installation employees for a number of years, and they were not disappointed.

Lotts' documentary, The Twisted Realm - The Historic Bellwood Club 2017, visited many areas on DSCR that were suspected of having paranormal or unexplained activity.

Almost six years later, Lotts was ecstatic to return to DSCR. "When we left the last time, we felt like we had barely touched the surface of the activity that is taking place," said Lotts.

The crew's return visit had been prompted amid speculation that recent renovations to the manor, which were completed in May 2022, may have affected the paranormal activity believed to be present before.

Lotts' focus on this follow-up trip remained on the Bellwood Manor House, which was renamed Bellwood Manor Training and Conference Center in August 2023. The Georgian-style house built between 1797 - 1804 is one of the oldest buildings in Chesterfield County, Virginia and is listed as a national historic landmark.

Lotts' said he also wanted to reach deeper into the historical aspect of DSCR for a better understanding of what the paranormal presences were. Lotts turned to Jimmy Parrish, chief of Defense Logistic Agency's Installation Management's Operations Division for some historical context of the installation.

"I'm glad to share information about the installation and the families that lived here, and I can also vouch that I encountered many peculiar sounds and things that cannot be easily or factually explained during both visits," said Parrish.

"While I can't provide definite results of our investigation until they're reviewed, we do feel that contact was made with the Bellwood family and that they definitely still reside on the grounds." said Lotts.

Look for a follow-up story on the release of the finished documentary by the end of 2023.
