King of Prussia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that repair operations will occur this week on the bridge that carries U.S. 1 (State Road) Road over Darby Creek in Springfield and Upper Darby townships, Delaware County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Built in 1950, the two-span, steel stringer U.S. 1 (State Road) bridge is 105-feet-long, 96-feet-wide, and carries approximately 29,754 vehicles per day.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
