Federal officials visit UHV to review research progress

University of Houston-Victoria faculty members and administrators pose for a photo April 24 with visitors from the U.S. Department of Energy. The federal representatives came to campus to check on the progress of artificial intelligence research funded by a federal contract from the Department of Energy with Battelle Savanah River Alliance LLC and conducted by Hardik Gohel, UHV assistant professor and director of the graduate data science program in collaboration with researchers from the Savannah River National Laboratory and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. During the campus visit, the representatives reviewed the research progress, received a tour of UHV's computer science and motion capture labs and visited with students and faculty members to share information about available programs in the Department of Energy.
