McClintock Drive Update

McClintock Drive will have intermittent lane restrictions through the end of August as the contractor completes the remaining concrete work. Alameda Drive, east of McClintock Drive, is closed, with an anticipated reopening date of Aug. 19. Please note, weather conditions may impact construction schedule.

White Castle coming in 2023

Arizona's second White Castle is coming to Tempe in the first half of 2023.

The famous restaurant will be located in Emerald Center at I-10 and Warner Road. We're ready for some cheese sliders with pickle.

Love and crepes

It's love for sure when your boyfriend learns to cook your favorite food just for you - and it's extra amazing when the two of you decide to open a restaurant that features it.

David Yang and Michelle Zhao opened Mr. Young Crepes four months ago in Tempe Food Court as a result of Michelle's obsession with Jian Bing, a style of crepes found in northeast China. They decided that Tempe would be a great location because of the city's diverse population. They especially hoped to reach Asian ASU students.

Jian Bing crepes typically include scallions, sesame and a homemade sauce, wrapped with crunchy wanton crepes or fritters. Some have ham, egg, seaweed, pork floss or turkey. Try the traditional crepe with egg and Chinese doughnut sticks.

"The crepes are a taste of my childhood," Michelle said. "They are full of memories."

Anyone who would like to try the treat may have the crepes delivered or pick them up at Tempe Food Court. Order online.

New CDC COVID-19 guidance

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidance for COVID-19 recently, based on the availability of tools that have significantly reduced the risk of severe illness, hospitalization and death compared to earlier in the pandemic.
Some of these include:

  • Instead of quarantining if you were exposed to someone with COVID-19, you wear a high-quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5.
  • If you are sick but don't have test results, isolate yourself until you have a negative test result
  • If you have COVID-19, you should still isolate yourself
  • If you have COVID-19, and after 5 days you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication, and if your symptoms are improving or you never had symptoms, you may end isolation after day 5.
  • Regardless of when you end isolation, avoid being around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19 until at least day 11.
  • You should wear a high-quality mask through day 10.
