On November 28, State Minister Ota held a meeting with Mr. Tommy CHEUNG Yu-yan, a member of the Executive Council and Legislative Council of Hong Kong, and the Council members from Hong Kong Japanese Food and Cuisine Association.

On November 28, State Minister Ota held a meeting with Mr. Tommy CHEUNG Yu-yan, a member of the Executive Council and Legislative Council of Hong Kong, and the Council members from Hong Kong Japanese Food and Cuisine Association.

At the meeting, they discussed the economic relationship between Japan and Hong Kong. State Minister Ota also explained the safety of ALPS treated water regarding the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station and asked for cooperation on early abolishment of import restriction measures on Japanese food which have been taken in Hong Kong since the nuclear accident.

They had boxed lunch using food from Fukushima. State Minister Ota explained the attractiveness and the safety of Fukushima products.
