This week on Everything Co-op, Michelle Roth discusses League of Southeastern Credit Unions’ legislative priorities

Michelle Roth is Senior Director of Governmental Affairs at the League of Southeastern Credit Unions.

This week, Vernon interviews Michelle Roth, Senior Director of Governmental Affairs at the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU). Vernon and Michelle will discuss LSCU's advocacy efforts and Alabama's current legislative session.

In her role as Senior Director of Governmental Affairs, Roth directs the League's lobbying and advocacy efforts, working with the Alabama Legislature, Governor Kay Ivey and her cabinet. Roth's background in advocacy, community and member relations helps her champion industry-driven state legislative and regulatory issues and develop and maintain favorable relationships with lawmakers, executive leaders and credit unions across the state.

Before joining LSCU, Roth was Executive Director of the Alabama Cable and Broadband Association (ACBA). During her seven-year tenure at ACBA, she was responsible for legislative affairs, public and community relations, and statewide advocacy efforts supporting Alabama's cable and broadband industry. She helped expand statewide internet access through this work and advocated for connecting low-income and rural Alabamians.

A native of Lakeland, Florida, Roth graduated from the University of Alabama. She has served on the boards and executive committees of several public policy and charitable statewide and community organizations. Additionally, she holds the designation of Certified Association Executive, the highest professional credential in the association industry.
