Gardaí in Fermoy, Co. Cork will have a policing plan in place throughout St Patrick's Day. Road closures and traffic management measures will be in place from early on Monday morning to ensure the festivities can be enjoyed by all with as little disruption as possible.
We ask that people mind themselves and one another, and to please call on any Garda on patrol should they require help or support.
Commuters can expect delays travelling through Fermoy from 10am to 1pm on Monday, 17th of March 2025 as road closures and diversions are in place. Motorists are recommended to use the motorway to circumvent circumvent the town if you are set to drive through the area.
Once the parade commences, traffic headed northbound through Fermoy will not be allowed onto the Parade route.
The Cork Road will also be closed to Traffic once the Parade has begun.
Route:
The Parade will begin from Dun Eala, Cork Road, Fermoy (Opposite Texaco) and will move onto Cork Road and down Mc Curtain Street, onto Patrick Street and finishing at the Richmond Hill / N72 junction.
Participants in the parade will congregate on Dun Eala, with the Parade setting off at 11am.

Motorists are advised to utilise Mill Island Car Park and the Old Mart Car Park in Fermoy.
Road closures:
The following areas will be closed from 10am to 1pm on Monday, 17th March 2025:
Northbound traffic will be diverted onto the R639, then the L1516 in the direction of Conna.
Southbound traffic will be diverted left at Kent Bridge onto O'Neill Crowley Quay.
From 11:30am to 1pm, Fitzgerald Place will be closed to traffic.
Motorists travelling Cork-bound will be diverted left at Kent Bridge to O'Neill Crowley Quay and onto Mill Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journey and expect diversions and delays around Limerick City due to road closures for the parade.
Local & National Bus Services:
From 10:30am to 1pm, buses that would usually begin in Fermoy Town Centre will stop opposite Aldi on the Dublin Road.
Bus Éireann services to all bus stops in Fermoy will cease from 10:30am to 1pm.
