Upcoming Community Meeting

The City of Eureka, Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation (RCHDC), and Humboldt Transit Authority invite community members to share input on needed public transit, bike, and pedestrian improvements in the vicinity of the future Sunset Heights housing site, located between West Harris and Henderson Streets, west of Fairfield.

Meeting Details:
Location: Alice Birney Elementary School
Date: February 24, 2025
Time: 6:30 - 7:30 PM

The City, RCHDC, and Humboldt Transit Authority are applying for funding through the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program, a competitive state program that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by funding compact affordable housing in conjunction with sustainable transportation improvements. If awarded, AHSC funding will support the Sunset Heights affordable housing development and public transit, bike, and pedestrian improvements within a two-mile radius of the project site. The upcoming community meeting will help inform which public improvements to include in the AHSC application for a safer and more connected City.

For those unable to attend in person, a virtual meeting will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Community members can register for the virtual session by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or visiting tinyurl.com/3xpyuwe3.
