Penn State Altoona English students, faculty travel to Harpers Ferry
Students enrolled in ENGL 469: Slavery and the Literary Imagination at Penn State Altoona visited Harpers Ferry, WV, on Saturday, April 13.

ALTOONA, Pa. - Students enrolled in ENGL 469: Slavery and the Literary Imagination at Penn State Altoona visited Harpers Ferry, WV, on Saturday, April 13.
The visit started at the Kennedy Farmhouse compound near Sharpsburg, MD, where abolitionist John Brown and his followers lived and prepared in the months prior to their raid on the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry on October 16, 1859.
The course is taught by Sandy Petrulionis, Distinguished Professor of English and American studies.
