Sewer Pump Station A-24 in Flagler Village

Construction Update on Wednesday, February 21

NE 6th Street from NE 3rd Avenue to NE 4th Avenue in Flagler Village will be closed on Thursday, February 22 from 7 am-6 pm for road resurfacing as part of the ongoing construction of Sewer Pump Station A-24. Traffic will be detoured to NE 4th Street via NE 3rd Avenue and NE 4th Avenue. In case of unforeseen conditions, this closure may be repeated on Friday, February 23. Overall completion of the project is expected in March.

Construction Update on Friday, December 8

NE 6 Street between NE 3 Avenue and NE 4 Avenue is now open. The road remained closed longer than anticipated due to conflicts with underground utilities including fiber optics, gas, and electricity. Crews also had to relocate a stormwater inlet to facilitate connections between the new pump station and nearby sewer lines.

We appreciate the patience of our Flagler Village neighbors during this closure and the remaining months of construction.

The City of Fort Lauderdale and David Mancini & Sons, Inc. are constructing a new underground sewer pump station within Peter Feldman Park in Flagler Village. The new pump station will accommodate the increased demand associated with new developments in the area, enhance reliability, and improve services for our neighbors.

The work includes:

  • Constructing a new 18-inch gravity sewer line and new gravity sewer manhole on NE 6 Street north of Peter Feldman Park.
  • Connecting the new gravity sewer line to existing nearby lines.
  • Constructing a new 18-inch force main that connects nearby lines to the new pump station.
  • Restoring the surrounding roadway

Construction began on Monday, June 12, 2023, and is expected to be completed in early 2024. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

  • A portion of Peter Feldman Park near NE 6 Street will be closed during construction.
  • One northbound lane of NE 3 Avenue from NE 5 Street to NE 6 Street may be closed daily during work hours throughout construction.
  • Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed. Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank our neighbors for their patience during construction.
