The Head of the National Assembly's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), Petar Kanev, was elected by a convincing majority as Vice President of the Financial Affairs Assembly. The election took place during the 61st Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, hosted by the Turkish capital Ankara. For the post of Vice-president for Financial Affairs were nominated representatives of the Parliaments of thr Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, the vote was secret. For the election of Petar Kanev 37 out of 46 votes were cast.

MPs Petar Kanev, Pavel Hristov and Ramadan Atalay participate in the PABSEC General Assembly, which was opened on May 4, 2023 by the President of theTurkish Madzhlis Mustafa Shentop. It marked the 30th Anniversary of the Organization.

On the first day of the Forum, Delegates from PABSEC member states discussed the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the dynamics of global change. The Head of the National Assembly delegation, Petar Kanev, made a statement on this topic.

On May 5, 2023, delegates will adopt recommendations related to the role of Parliaments in enhancing energy security in BSEC member states, strengthening economic stability, and the role of the media in socio-economic development. National policies and the development of space technology will also be discussed by parliamentarians from the BSEC member states.

During the PABSECGeneral Assembly, the Deputy Secretary General for Organizational Affairs was elected, the audit report and the draft budget of the Assembly were considered.

The Republic of Albania, Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of North Macedonia, the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgia, the Hellenic Republic, the Republic ofMoldova, Ukraine, Romania, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Türkiye participate in PABSEC.
