Federal Constitutional Court publishes 2022 annual report

Today the Federal Constitutional Court published its 2022 annual report, which is available in German and English.

This year's report focuses on the various international links of the Federal Constitutional Court, setting out the Court's role within the European and international legal order and the global community of constitutional courts. The report also presents different types of proceedings before the Court and compares them to international practice. Just like in previous years, the 2022 annual report provides information on national and international meetings with other institutions, which this year is supplemented by guest contributions from the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights as well as from selected constitutional and supreme courts in other countries. The report also incorporates diagrams of selected statistics on the number of proceedings as well as information about the Court, its Justices and staff members. The annual report summarises important cases decided in 2022. It concludes with an outlook on cases the Court expects to decide in 2023.
