The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) has joined forces with other leading industrial sectors in a shared call to deepen the Single Market as pressure on European competitiveness continues to mount.

In the joint letter, the signatories emphasised the need for the EU to address barriers within its Single Market to boost innovation, investment, and economic growth. Removing regulatory barriers, enhancing cross-border trade, and simplifying compliance processes are just some of the recommendations called for in the statement.

Providing the European vehicle industry's perspective, ACEA Director General Sigrid de Vries noted that unleashing the potential of Europe's Single Market "can ensure critical industries such as electric vehicle manufacturing thrive in the face of increasingly fierce competition from China and the US."
