Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in July 2021 Fatal Shooting at 3198 Lockcrest Street

April 29, 2024- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3198 Lockcrest Street about 9:35 p.m. on July 1, 2021.

The suspect, Corey Hamilton, 25, is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. A booking photo of Hamilton is attached to this news release.

The victim, Norris Rose, 56, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on December 28, 2022.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective M. Hughey reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported vehicle crash at the above address. Upon arrival, they learned the driver had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim, later identified as Mr. Rose, to the hospital.

At that time, there was no known motive or suspect(s)

Further investigation, witness statements and evidence obtained identified Hamilton as the suspect in this case. Hamilton was arrested last Friday (April 26) without incident, booked into the Harris County Jail and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
