Four New Governors Elected to ACHE Board

For Immediate Release

CHICAGO, March 23, 2024-Four healthcare leaders have been elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives: Ajani "AJ" Dunn, FACHE; Wendy Horton, PharmD, FACHE; Alfred A. Montoya Jr., FACHE; and Monica C. Vargas-Mahar, FACHE. ACHE's Board of Governors oversees ACHE operations and member services.

Dunn is chief administrative officer, Mayo Clinic in Florida, Jacksonville, Fla. He served as the ACHE Regent-at-Large for District 2 from 2019 to 2024 and on numerous committees.

Horton is CEO, UVA Health University Medical Center, Charlottesville, Va. She has served on various ACHE committees.

Montoya is acting assistant under secretary for health, support services/deputy assistant under secretary for health, operations, Veterans Health Administration/Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington, D.C. He served as the ACHE Regent for Veterans Affairs from 2022 to 2024 and has served on numerous committees.

Vargas-Mahar is market CEO, Carondelet Health Network/CEO, St. Joseph's Hospital, Tucson, Ariz. She has served on various ACHE committees.
