Ambassador Flumiani visits Comenius University in Bratislava

The Italian Ambassador to Slovakia, Catherine Flumiani, has paid a visit to the Faculty of Philosophy at Comenius University in the capital, Bratislava. The University holds Italian language and literature courses that are followed by around one hundred students. The Ambassador had a number of meetings, including with the Dean of the Faculty, Marian Zouhar, and with the Guarantor of the Italian Language and Culture programme, Ivan Šuša.

The visit gave Ambassador Flumiani the chance to meet members of the Italian Studies Section and discuss the teaching and research activities it intends to promote in the sphere of bilateral relations between Italy and Slovakia. She then met students of Italian and encouraged them to explore the opportunities for learning about Italy's language and culture by taking part in the initiatives organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava.

"There are so many ideas to consider and initiatives we intend to implement in the near future to strengthen the cooperation between the Embassy and the University", said Ambassador Flumiani at the end of the meeting. She thanked the representatives of the Faculty of Philosophy of Bratislava's Comenius University for their strong support for the teaching of the Italian language.
