The URL improves 11 positions in the employability ranking GEURS

Monday, November 27, 2023. Ramon Llull University is ranked again in the Global Employability University Ranking (GEURS), a ranking that assesses the ability of universities to prepare their graduates for the labour market.

This year, the GEURS -produced by the French consultancy Emerging and published by Times Higher Education- places the URL in 167th position in the world, 11 positions better than the previous year. The other seven Spanish universities ranked are IE University, the University of Navarra, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Madrid, the Carlos III University, the Complutense University of Madrid and, for the first time, the University of Barcelona.

This edition has been compiled based on the opinions of over 100,000 employers that hired over 800,000 graduates in the last year from 21 different countries. The survey is commissioned by Emerging and conducted by Trendece, an independent consultancy.

The data collected show that employers are looking for graduates with digital skills, involved in society, who can transform organisations and thus grow their country's economy.

Employers value teamwork skills and cooperative spirit. These skills, aligned with a collaborative and socially responsible attitude, are present in the studies taught at the URL and linked to the leadership and social impact skills considered by Ramon Llull University.

The survey also reflects the growing globalisation of employability in higher education. Asia shows the greatest growth, with China and India in the lead. In Europe, France leads the list, but it is worth highlighting the progress of Germany, which is in third place. Likewise, Sandrine Belloc, from Emerging, suggests keeping a close look at Spanish higher education.
