Carley Drakas, NP, has joined Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinicsas a family nurse practitioner at the Boscobeland Muscodaclinics.

Carley provides care for patients of all ages and offers a variety of services such as adult and pediatric wellness exams, acute illness exams and chronic disease management. She's specifically interested in women's health, diabetes care, disease prevention, and mental health and well-being.

Carley first experienced the Gundersen Boscobel care team during a clinical rotation.

"During that rotation, I witnessed the unique culture of this healthcare system," says Drakas. "The supportive, upbeat and dedicated environment made me feel welcomed and exemplified Gundersen's commitment to excellence."

Originally from Linden, Wis., Carley earned her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madisonbefore earning her Master of Science in Nursing from Ohio State University. Prior to joining Gundersen Boscobel's primary care team, Carley worked as a cardiology nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Centerin Nashville, Tenn., and most recently cared for patients undergoing chest operations at UW Health University Hospital in Madison, Wis.

"It's great to be back at Gundersen Boscobel, and I'm excited to embark on my nurse practitioner career journey with this team beside me," Drakassays. "I'm looking forward to building relationships with my colleagues and patients and providing high-quality care to our rural communities."

When not seeing patients, Carley enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures. She also likes to cook, spend time with family and friends and getoutside. And,she loves to hang out with her new Aussiedoodlepuppy, Hank.
