MAYOR RAS J. BARAKA’S STATEMENT ON BALTIMORE BRIDGE COLLAPSE

"On behalf of the people of Newark, I would like to send my deepest condolences to everyone affected by the tragedy that took place this morning in Baltimore. The images of the Francis Scott Key Bridge lying collapsed are horrific. The thoughts and prayers of everyone in Newark go to the people of Baltimore, who we consider a kindred major American city, and to the search-and-rescue teams responding to this dreadful accident to locate survivors. We are ready to assist Baltimore in any way we can."
