Introducing Gift Articles, a New Way for Times Subscribers to Share Articles
New York Times news subscribers can now share up to 10 gift articles with nonsubscribers each month on NYTimes.com and soon, on iOS and Android.
Gift articles are a great way for Times news subscribers to share the breadth of Times journalism and connect with friends and family who may not yet be subscribers. Subscribers can use a new button to share gift articles to any platform. To share articles, subscribers just tap the gift article button to reveal an 'article sharing' panel. With every article gifted, the monthly gift article count will decrease by one article, as reflected in the panel.
Recipients of gift articles can read the full article, even if they don't yet subscribe to The Times. Gift articles do not count toward the monthly article limit, but unregistered users will see a skippable registration prompt. Once activated, each gift article will be available to the recipient for 14 days.
