Minister of Defence Kaikkonen to Brussels

Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen will attend the EU's Foreign Affairs Council meeting for defence ministers in Brussels on 20 March 2023.

The meeting will focus on the EU's support to Ukraine and the implementation of the EU's Strategic Compass. The Strategic Compass is a strategic steering document for the EU's security and defence cooperation that sets objectives for the next 5 to 10 years.

When discussing the EU's support to Ukraine, the ministers will continue the discussion about munitions supplies to Ukraine and joint procurement of munitions. These topics were addressed also at the informal defence ministers' meeting on 7 to 8 March 2023.
