UDOT to close northbound Legacy Parkway in Centerville

Road to close Thursday night, then Saturday morning through Monday morning for West Davis Highway bridge beam installation

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is scheduled to close northbound Legacy Parkway between Parrish Lane in Centerville and Park Lane in Farmington Thursday night, Feb. 2, and again from Saturday, Feb. 4, through Monday morning, Feb. 6, while crews place beams for a new bridge connecting I-15 with the new West Davis Highway.

Northbound Legacy Parkway will close Thursday night at 11:59 p.m. and is scheduled to reopen on Friday at 5 a.m. The highway will then close again on Saturday at 4 a.m. and reopen on Monday at 5 a.m. Drivers should expect delays Thursday night as well as during the day on Saturday and Sunday and should use I-15 as an alternate route.

"Our work to install the beams for the new connection between I-15 and the West Davis Highway has gone well so far, and we appreciate the help from drivers who are planning ahead and taking alternate routes," said Rex Harris, UDOT project director. "We've planned these closures at night and on weekends to get this essential work done while inconveniencing as few people as possible."

Thursday night's closure will allow crews to set the first beams for the bridge connecting northbound Legacy Parkway with West Davis Highway. Then over the weekend, crews will place the last set of beams over Legacy Parkway needed for the I-15/West Davis bridge. Traffic impacts to I-15 are expected to begin in late February and continue through March.

The West Davis Highway is a new 16-mile, 4-lane divided highway under construction in western Davis County between I-15/Legacy Parkway in Farmington and the future extension of S.R. 193 in West Point. Six new interchanges will provide access to Farmington, Kaysville, Layton and Syracuse. The project also includes over 10 miles of new trails. Work began in 2021 and is scheduled for completion in 2024.
