UMass Dining to Host 13th Annual Dash and Dine 5k to Support Amherst Survival Center April 20

UMass Amherst Dining Services will host its 13th annual UMass 5K Dash and Dine on campus Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m. The goal of the event is to promote health and wellness at the university while raising funds for Amherst Survival Center (ASC). A campus tradition exemplifying UMass Dining's mission to create community through food, to date the Dash and Dine has raised more than $60,000 for ASC.<_o3a_p>

The 5K features a USA Track and Field-certified course for runners, walkers and participants in wheelchairs. After the race, all are welcome to have a free lunch courtesy of the top-ranked campus food program in the country at Berkshire Dining Commons. Sponsors of the event include WWLP-TV 22 and Rock 102 WAQY-FM Springfield.<_o3a_p>

The race fee is $10 for all UMass and Five College students, $20 for UMass Amherst faculty and staff, and $25 for the general public and includes registration, a T-shirt and a complimentary lunch. Children 8 years old and under may participate for free in the annual Fun Run at 10 a.m.<_o3a_p>
