SWOSU College of Pharmacy to Host PharmFest Open House Events
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) College of Pharmacy is excited to announce two upcoming PharmFest open house events tailored to students interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy. The virtual event will take place on Thursday, April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m., and the in-person event will take place on Thursday, April 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chemistry Pharmacy and Physics building (CPP) room 312.
The PharmFest events offer an opportunity for prospective students to gather information about the pharmacy profession and SWOSU's program. Both events will include introductory sessions covering various pharmacy school topics and potential career paths. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with current pharmacy students and professors to learn about the student experience and career prospects.
A student panel will provide firsthand accounts of the daily life of pharmacy students, research opportunities, counseling competitions, and scholarship opportunities. A professor panel will highlight skills taught at SWOSU, including dispensing, compounding, clinical skills, and research, as well as career options such as nuclear pharmacy, industry, government, and pharmacogenomics.
The events will include a Q&A session for attendees to address any questions they may have. The in-person event will also include a campus tour and refreshments.
