Defence ministers’ conference on U.N. peacekeeping held virtually

(Bqp.vn) - The Defence Ministers' Conference on U.N. Peacekeeping, chaired by Republic of Korea, was held virtually on December 7.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defence, head of the Steering Committee on Vietnam's Participation in U.N. Peacekeeping Operations under the Ministry of National Defence, attended the conference in Vietnam.

Vietnam sent high-level delegations to attend the Defence Ministers' Conference on U.N. Peacekeeping in 2015, 2017 and 2019, and its active participation contributed to strengthening cooperation in this field between Vietnam and countries around the world.

According to the plan, the delegates will discuss some areas, such as, maintaining peace, partnerships, responsibility, security and safety of forces, etc. This conference also aims to improve the effectiveness in U.N. peacekeeping operations through member states' commitments.
