The Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AIHS) is pleased to announce Christian Frost as the new Chair of the Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board (AOHSEAB).

Christian takes over the role as Chair from Angela Seidel who stepped down after a productive five years leading the board. Angela was an inaugural member of AOHSEAB in 2011 as an independent OHS Professional. As an inaugural member, she was instrumental in establishing the criteria, policies and processes associated with the function of AOHSEAB as the only OHS education accreditation body in Australia.

In 2018, Angela took over as Chair of AOHSEAB. During that time, there has been a review of the efficacy of AOHSEAB, and continued reaccreditation of university OHS programs. Currently, these university programs annually produce approximately 350 graduates capable of functioning as OHS professionals.

AIHS CEO Julia Whitford thanked Angela for her invaluable service saying "Angela has made a significant contribution to the profession with her dedication to ensuring quality education for OHS/WHS students in Australia. On behalf of the AIHS, I wish her all the best in her future endeavours."

Christian Frost joins AOHSEAB as an industry leader and is currently employed as the Group Executive, SHEQ at Ventia. The selection panel decided to elect Christian as Chair for his extensive knowledge and experience, as well as his forward-thinking nature to lead AOHSEAB into the future. The panel also saw Christian as a good fit to work alongside the AIHS in navigating the evolving world of education.

AOHSEAB has a long history of service to the profession after being established in 2011 under the By-Laws of the AIHS. The Board has been responsible for assessing and accrediting Bachelor, Graduate and Masters Programs across major universities in all states and territories to ensure graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the workplace.

AIHS Chairperson Naomi Kemp welcomed Christian to the role saying, "We are thrilled to welcome Christian as the new Chair of AOHSEAB, we look forward to him bringing a fresh dynamic and entrepreneurial approach to the Board, with experience across industry and industry training."
