Town of Wawarsing - Finlo BR II LLC - Solar Panel Arrays

Negative Declaration

Ulster County - The Town of Wawarsing Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Finlo BR II LLC - Solar Panel Arrays will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of two large-scale solar energy systems at the rear of a site containing three lots: The western lot, SBL #75.4-2-6.12, is owned by Bluming Fields LLC (Alex Blum) and contains 144.8 acres. The eastern lot, SBL 75.4-2-7.2, is owned by Wally Nichols and contains 134.4 acres. The front lot, SBL75.4-2-7.1, is owned by Wally Nichols and contains 12.9 acres. The lots are located on the west side of Route 209, across from the State Police barracks, The lots are zoned AD (Agricultural Development). Together, both the Wawarsing East and West large scale solar energy systems would cover 38 acres of land. Some of the land is already open. Out of these 38 acres of the area of the panels, only 28 acres of clearing would be required, with 15.5 acres of clearing on the west Blum lot and 12.5 acres on the east Nichols lot. Most of the West system would be located on the Blum lot, but it would straddle the Blum/Nichols property line, with a minor portion east of the line. The East system would be entirely located on the Nichols lot. The maximum height of the panels is proposed to be 20 foot. The project is located at 6734 State Route 209 and 15 (Old Queens Highway) in Kerhonkson, Town of Wawarsing, New York.
