Deildarforseti tölvunarfræðideildar Háskólans í Reykjavík

Háskólinn í Reykjavík leitar að metnaðarfullum, akademískum leiðtoga í starf deildarforseta hinnar ört vaxandi tölvunarfræðideildar háskólans. Deildarforseti fer með daglega stjórn deildarinnar og stýrir stefnumótun hennar. Deildarforseti heyrir undir rektor og sviðsforseta tæknisviðs og situr jafnframt í framkvæmdaráði Háskólans í Reykjavík.
HELSTU VERKEFNI

• Mótun framtíðarsýnar og stefnu deildar, í samræmi við stefnu háskólans og annarra deilda
• Stjórnun deildarinnar og upplýsingagjöf til starfsfólks og nemenda
• Ábyrgð á stjórnskipulagi deildarinnar samkvæmt stefnu háskólans og að tryggja þátttöku akademísks starfsfólks og nemenda í stjórnun hennar
• Eftirfylgni með skipulags- og starfsreglum deildarinnar
• Gerð og eftirfylgni fjárhagsáætlunar í samráði við sviðsforseta tæknisviðs
• Ráðning fasts starfsfólks og mönnun námskeiða við deildina í samráði við sviðsforseta tæknisviðs
• Tryggja að skipulag námsbrauta sé ætíð í samræmi við viðmið um æðri menntun og prófgráður
• Gerð og birting kennsluskrár deildarinnar og regluleg endurskoðun og uppfærsla námsbrauta með hliðsjón af þörfum íslensks atvinnulífs og þróun sambærilegs náms erlendis
• Ábyrgð á árlegu innra gæðamati deildarinnar ásamt skipulagi og þátttöku deildarinnar í ytra mati í samræmi við viðmið Gæðaráðs háskólanna

NÁNARI UPPLÝSINGAR OG UMSÓKNARFORM

Reykjavik University seeks an ambitious academic leader to carry on the development of its growing Department of Computer Science. The department chair is responsible for administrative affairs and the faculty's academic agenda. The chair reports to the Dean of the School of Technology, as well as being a member of the university's Executive Committee.
Main tasks and responsibilities:

• To formulate a future vision and strategy for the Department in context with the strategy of the University and other Departments
• Management of the Department and dissemination of information to staff members and students
• Responsibility for the Department's administrative affairs in accordance with the strategy of Reykjavik University and ensuring the participation of academic personnel and students in the Department's administration
• Follow-up on the organizational and operating rules for the Department
• Preparation of a budget for the Department, in consultation with the Dean of the School of Technology
• Hiring of permanent employees and organization of the Department's teaching, in consultation with the Dean of the School of Technology
• To ensure that study programs continue to be in accordance with the National Qualification Framework for higher education- Preparation and publication of the course catalog for the Department and regular review and updating of study programs in accordance with the needs of the professional community and similar study programs abroad
• Responsibility for the annual internal quality assessment of the Department and organizing and participating in the Department's external review according to the criteria of the Quality Board for Higher Education

We seek candidates who have the following strengths:

• Academic leadership experience
• An ambitious strategic vision and the ability to shape and lead a team of faculty members and staff
• Excellent teaching and research experience
• International experience and a strong network of international collaborations
• A doctorate in computer science or related subjects.
