On 19 July 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan visited Poland at the invitation of Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau. While in Warsaw, the head of Armenia's diplomacy also met with the speakers of the Sejm and Senate, deputy prime minister and the minister of state assets.

The heads of diplomacy of Poland and Armenia spoke about bilateral cooperation, including the development of economic cooperation and Polish investments in Armenia. The officials also discussed items on the international agenda, as well as underlining good historical relations that both countries have enjoyed.

"Poland supports Armenia on its path of modernisation and continuous democratic reforms, including through development assistance," said Minister Rau.

Special attention was paid to security issues in the South Caucasus and the negative impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine on the situation in the region.

Furthermore, the ministers discussed the current peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Minister Zbigniew Rau welcomed the recent major political developments in relations between the two countries. He expressed the conviction that normalisation in relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan will enable the region to grow and offer a way of solving an urgent humanitarian crisis. Minister Rau reiterated the declaration that Poland as part of its OSCE chairmanship is willing to use the Organization's instruments and mechanisms in order to support all de-escalation measures.

The talks also covered Armenia's cooperation with the European Union. Minister Zbigniew Rau assured that Poland consistently supports Yerevan's efforts to strengthen its relations with Brussels and declared his willingness to step up the partnership to further that goal.
