“Roma Silenziosa Bellezza” photo exhibit by Webuild, VIVE Institute at Vittoriano monument extended to March 31

ROME, February 17, 2023 - In light of its success with the public, the "Roma Silenziosa Bellezza " (Rome Silent Beauty) photographic exhibit in Rome, Italy has been extended to March 31 from February 28, offering an unparalleled view of a deserted city immortalised during the silent months of lockdown in 2020. The exhibit aims to encourage a constructive debate on themes regarding the liveable and sustainable city.
Promoted and organised by Webuild and the VIVE - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia institute with support from the City of Rome, the free exhibit held in the Zanardelli Hall at the Vittoriano has received so far more than 315,000 visitors.

More than 60 images by professional photographer Moreno Maggi have attracted everyone from teenagers to families, tourists to residents.
The exhibit, curated by Alessandra Mauro and Roberto Koch, is a visit to the sites of the Eternal City, a journey rich in video and imagery that invites the visitors to contemplate the importance of public spaces and the community. It reveals a Rome never before seen, of extraordinary beauty during the silent days of lockdown, returning the true and indestructible face of the city, ready to host international events in coming years. It is an event made more remarkable by a multimedia experience in which the public is immersed in a room with an audio experience that accompanies the exhibit, telling of the curiosities behind some of the beauty of the Eternal City.

There is also the video mapping prepared by Webuild, offering images of the exhibit that light up Palazzo Venezia. The projection switches between photos and works of light. It will be viewed from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. until March 31.

On March 12, the VIVE - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia institute will host two special events. At 11:00 a.m. there will be a guided tour of "Roma dal cielo" (Rome from Above), which will lead visitors to a 360-degree view of the city from the Terrazza Panoramica of the Vittoriano. At 4 p.m., it will hold a workshop for families entitled "Obiettivo su Roma: fotografare la città " (A Lens on Rome: Photographing the City). For more information and to make a reservation, visit www.vive.cultura.gov.it.

The exhibit is part of a project that includes the catalogue and album of the same name, "ROMA SILENZIOSA BELLEZZA", published by Rizzoli on behalf of Webuild. It aims to stimulate a debate on future paradygms of the liveable city, transforming the pandemic experience into an opportunity to rethink the urban environment and its infrastructure, starting with what communities need from a perspective of sustainability.
