Enjoy a night in the sky at International Observe the Moon Night

Aiken, SC - Families will be able to have a fun evening of learning about our nearest neighbor in space, the Moon.

Hosted by the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center, International Observe the Moon Night will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21 on the University of South Carolina Aiken's campus. Students and the community can enjoy three different shows happening at the Planetarium such as In My Backyard happening at 7 p.m., Defying Gravity at 8 p.m., and Two Small Pieces of Glass at 9 p.m.

Members of the Astronomy Club of Augusta will have telescopes available from 7:00 p.m. - 10 p.m. The Bechtel Telescope in the RPSEC Observatory will be available for viewing from 7:30 - 10:00 p.m. In addition to observing the moon, audiences will have the opportunity to observe Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn.

The event is free of charge and is sponsored by the Astronomy Club of Augusta, DuPont Planetarium, and the University of South Carolina Aiken.
