COVID-19 Vaccine Update: April 10, 2021

The State of Maryland is reporting a new one-day record of 94,773 COVID-19 vaccinations-shattering all previous records, and exceeding 90,000 vaccinations for the first time.

Overall, the state is reporting 3,369,646 vaccinations, and a record-seven day average of 64,875 shots per day. Maryland ranks 13th in the nation for vaccinating its population.

Official data is posted daily at coronavirus.maryland.gov.

  • All Marylanders 16 and older are currently eligible to get vaccinated at mass vaccination sites. Starting today, all Marylanders 16 and older will be eligible to schedule appointments and get vaccinated through all providers. Eligibility does not guarantee an immediate vaccination appointment; it will take several weeks to vaccinate every resident who wants a vaccine.
  • More than 675,000 Marylanders have now pre-registered for an appointment at a mass vaccination site. To pre-register, Maryland residents should visit covidvax.maryland.gov. Those without Internet access can call Maryland's COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).
  • The Hagerstown, Salisbury, and M&T Bank Stadium mass vaccination sites are offering walk-up, no-appointment vaccinations. A limited number of approximately 200 slots will be available each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • COVID-19 vaccination clinics are being held at nearly 500 retail and independent pharmacies statewide. To find the closest pharmacy provider in your area, Maryland residents should visit covidvax.maryland.gov.

'You could say this was just another supply chain challenge for Marlin Steel Wire Products President and Owner Drew Greenblatt-a matter of getting the right materials to the right people at the right time. Except in this case, the right materials were COVID-19 vaccines, the right people were more than 3,300 manufacturing workers at 81 companies, and the right time was ASAP…

'The coalition has had the enthusiastic support of the Maryland government throughout its efforts. Gov. Larry Hogan, whose office was instrumental in arranging the vaccination events, will attend one of them in person in the coming days.

'The last word: 'We got it done. A mass inoculation blitz of 3,300 essential manufacturing workers in Maryland are getting the vaccine in 17 locations over the next couple days,' said Greenblatt. 'Governor Hogan led the charge to make sure our food processing, medical products manufacturing and defense workers are protected against COVID-19. This leadership will keep our nation safe.''
