Lowndes County Emergency Management Director Ashley Tye Receives AEM Credentials

Lowndes County, Georgia: Lowndes County Emergency Management Director Ashley Tye recently received the Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) credentials. The AEM® designates a high honor of professional achievement available from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). The IAEM has more than 6,000 emergency managers in its membership, representing professionals whose goals are saving lives and protecting property and the environment during emergencies and disasters.

"I am steadfast in my commitment to enhance Lowndes County's emergency management department. My goal is to continually strengthen our community's preparedness, ensuring we are well-equipped to handle any future disasters or emergencies," affirmed Ashley Tye, Lowndes County Emergency Management Director.

Tye became the EMA Director of Lowndes County in 2007. He led the community in emergency efforts during the 2009 floods, the COVID-19 pandemic, and Hurricane Idalia in August 2023, among several other events.

"We are extremely proud of Ashley for receiving his AEM credential," said Lowndes County Manager Paige Dukes. "This designation speaks to Ashley's commitment to expanding his skills as an emergency management professional. Lowndes County is fortunate to have him as one of our leaders."

The AEM® designation is currently held by 327 individuals in the emergency management profession around the world.
