Understanding a Shifting Regulatory Landscape for Life Plan Communities

Continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) and life plan communities (LPCs) are facing complex regulatory and legislative issues that are transcending state boundaries. With 41 states having statutes that regulate CCRCs and LPCs, LeadingAge members are looking for guidance and advice on how to navigate this changing landscape.

How many states require that at least one resident be a full, voting member of the board? How do most states define "just cause" when a CCRC must terminate a resident contract? When does the entrance fee refund have to be returned?
