PLA Hong Kong garrison conducts first actual combat training in 2024

HONG KONG, Jan. 3 -- The Chinese PLA Hong Kong Garrison held a mobilization ceremony for the commencement of training for the year 2024, followed by the first actual combat training drill of the new year.

On Jan. 1st, 2024, at the training ground in the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, the army, naval and air forces started the drill, heading to their respective positions. The army's wheeled vehicles drove to the training field, naval guided-missile frigate Suqian and other vessels set sail, and air force helicopters took off.

Service members assigned to the PLA Hong Kong Garrison expressed that they would devote themselves to military training with greater enthusiasm to continuously promote their garrisoning capabilities in the new year, so as to safeguard national sovereignty and security, and preserve Hong Kong's enduring prosperity and stability.
