UN – France condemns the attack on UNISFA in the strongest possible terms (28 January 2024)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack on the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) that took place during the weekend of January 27-28, killing two peacekeepers - one Ghanaian and one Pakistani.

We offer our condolences to the deceased soldiers' loved ones and to the Ghanaian and Pakistani authorities. Those responsible for this attack must be identified and held accountable.

France hails UNISFA's efforts and reaffirms its full support for the work carried out by the UN force in Abyei.
