White Plains is Participating in Youth Climate Action Fund!

Climate change is real and it is happening now. Turning to science gives us the knowledge we need to understand why climate change is occurring, how it is transforming the environment, and what can be done to alter the domino effect.

The City of White Plains has been selected to participate in the Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF), a program of Bloomberg Philanthropies, which challenges young residents ages 15 - 24 to get involved and take action on climate change in innovative ways to begin to address its effects. Grant funds will be used to fund microgrants of up to $5,000 each to organizations and groups engaging youth to implement climate action initiatives as well as to purchase supplies and support the communications component of the project.

We are excited to see what the brilliant young minds of today can do to combat climate change and benefit our community through innovation in topics such as: the environment and natural resources, clean energy, reducing greenhouse gasses, and climate resilience/adaptation.
