Amador COVID-19 News

Amador County Public Health (ACPH) reports 90 more individuals with COVID-19 since last Tuesday (80% unvaccinated). Cases include 19 children under 18 years, 48 age 18-49, 11 age 50-64, and 12 age 65 and above. Confirmed cases in 2021 total 2,281. There are currently 98 active cases in isolation.

All three vaccines are now available for booster doses. Everyone 65 and older and others who are at increased risk are recommended to get a booster dose. Anyone who received Johnson & Johnson more than two months ago is recommended to get a booster. Those who received Pfizer or Moderna are recommended to get their booster at least six months after their second dose. People may receive booster shots of either the vaccine they originally received or a different vaccine. No-cost vaccine clinics will be held at the Health and Human Services Building (HHS), 10877 Conductor Blvd, Sutter Creek on Thursday (Oct. 28), Friday (Oct. 29) and Sunday (Oct. 31) from 9 AM to 6 PM. Visit myturn.ca.gov to schedule an appointment. Please bring your vaccination card, a photo of your card, or digital record that shows the dates of your previous dose(s). Walk-ins will be accepted before 5:30 pm.

The OptumServe testing site at HHS continues to operate on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 7 AM to 7 PM. Please register for this no-cost testing at the lhi.care website or by calling 1-888-634-1123. OptumServe will accommodate walk-ins on a limited basis. Masks are required at the testing site. Anyone who is exhibiting symptoms, even fully vaccinated individuals, should isolate and get tested.

Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be offered at the ACPH pop-up clinic tomorrow. No appointment is necessary.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Plymouth Park (Main Street Plymouth) from 1 PM to 3 PM

No pop-up clinics are scheduled at this time for November. Appointments may be scheduled for any dose of any vaccine by visiting the myturn.ca.gov website. Public Health also offers vaccines by appointment and to homebound individuals. Appointments may be scheduled by calling (209) 223-6407.

Plan to celebrate Halloween safely this weekend and follow recommended precautions.
