COSMOTE network once again in the lead, based on metrics from Ookla® and umlaut
- "The fastest mobile network in Greece" for the seventh consecutive year, according to Ookla®

Athens, Greece, 30 August 2023 - COSMOTE's mobile network achieved two more top distinctions for the speed, the reliability and quality of its services. According to Ookla's® [1] Speedtest®, the world's top internet metrics company, COSMOTE was distinguished as "the fastest mobile network in Greece" for the seventh consecutive year. In addition, COSMOTE also received the 'Best in Test' certification from the independent benchmarking company, umlaut, part of Accenture, for the ninth consecutive time, for mobile internet and voice services.

Ookla: "The fastest mobile network in Greece"
The COSMOTE network was named as "the fastest mobile network in Greece" (Greece's Fastest Mobile Network 2023) for the seventh consecutive year at the Speedtest AwardsTM by Ookla®. According to Ookla's data[1], COSMOTE maintained its strong position in relation to the competition, achieving a speed score (Speed ScoreTM) of 130.00, (2nd: 59.08 and 3rd: 57.07), while its mobile subscribers, once again, enjoyed, on average, more than double the download speeds than those provided by competitor mobile providers.
Ookla's® data were based on over 637,000 measurements carried out by mobile network users themselves, during the first half of 2023. The tests were implemented via the Speedtest® application under actual conditions, throughout the country, on all mobile provider networks, on iOS and Android smartphones. COSMOTE's mobile network turned in the best performance in Greece overall and in the individual benchmarking tests for mobile internet and voice services - performed by the independent benchmarking company umlaut, part of Accenture - gaining the 'Best in Test' certification for the ninth consecutive time. According to umlaut's data, COSMOTE mobile subscribers enjoy top quality communication in voice and data services. Specifically, in download speeds, COSMOTE mobile subscribers enjoy, on average, more than two times[2] the speeds compared to competing mobile telephony providers in major cities, towns and on the country's main roads.
'Best in Test' certification is the result of a series of independent benchmark measurements carried out by umlaut between 28 April and 18 May 2023 and additional crowdsourced data collected from December 2022 to May 2023. The drive test measurements were carried out using umlaut's special scientific equipment (drive test tools) in 30 cities and towns, as well as on the country's main motorways. During the measurements, tests were carried out on all popular mobile internet and voice services, recording the customer-perceived experience of reliability, speech quality, call setup time, 4G/5G broadband connectivity, upload/download speed, internet browsing, HD/UHD/4K video viewing and OTT Voice apps and gaming speed (latency). COSMOTE 5G
COSMOTE, the first company to bring 5G to Greece, has the largest 5G network in the country[3], with nationwide population coverage[4] that surpassed 85% and Mobile Internet speeds of over 1Gbps in several areas. With its continuous expansion to more and more cities, COSMOTE 5G has reached 97% coverage in Athens, while in Thessaloniki and 37 other cities throughout Greece it has reached over 90%, while its target is to reach 90% nationwide until the end of 2023.
