Jason Hoffman Quoted in Bloomberg Law Article on Judge-Shopping

Partner Jason Hoffman commented on the guidance to discourage judge-shopping issued by the U.S. Judicial Conference in an article titled "Top Patent Venues Are Two Steps Ahead of Judge-Shopping Guidance" in Bloomberg Law. Published March 27, 2024, the article discusses how the guidance will have limited to no effect on the two busiest patent venues in the country, located in the busy Western District of Texas and the even busier Eastern District of Texas. Hoffman commented that, while the expectation was that the guidance would be a policy change to be implemented across the District Courts, the actual memorandum was closer to guidelines than hard and fast rules.
