Defiance County: Construction update

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, April 19, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Allen County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

U.S. 24 PROJECTS

U.S. 24 in both directions between U.S. 127 and Baltimore Street will be restricted to the left lane for approximately for a pavement rehabilitation project. Work includes a break and seat followed by resurfacing. Starting at the Paulding County line, the contractor will complete three to four miles at a time. Visit the project webpage: PID 117367

U.S. 24 between the Indiana state line and Henry County line will have temporary shoulder closures until mid-April to replace signs.

U.S. 1274PROJECTS

U.S. 127, over the Maumee River, south of the village of Sherwood, closed on May 8 for approximately 365 days for a bridge replacement. Reopening is currently anticipated on May 16. Visit the project page: PID 102669

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: CR 424 to The Bend Road to SR 18, back to U.S. 127. (see map).

State Route 18 and State Route 281, the Dommersville Road and E. Second Street intersection in the city of Defiance will have traffic impacts for traffic signal work. Traffic will be maintained; flaggers may be necessary.

State Route 15/State Route 18 between Christy Rd. and Water St. over the Tiffin River will close on Monday, May 20, for approximately 90 days. Access for local traffic to all properties will be maintained throughout construction.

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detours: SR 18 to U.S. 127 to U.S. 24, back to SR 15 (see map).

State Route 281 (Domersville Road) over the Maumee River between East River Drive and Second Street (SR 18) in the city of Defiance will have lane restrictions on Monday, April 22, for bridge inspections.
