Happiness and sorrow of migrating, leaving home and reinvention elsewhere as well as our relationship with the land will be explored in two exciting exhibitions at the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery (GRAG).

REMOTELYCLOSE invites guests to an intriguing display of mixed media, black and white photographs and works on paper alongside a presentation of short digital films depicting work created on the road.

Drawing from the City of Greater Geraldton's Art Collection, Living Landscapes presents fascinating perspectives of the land, from traditional European to First Nations and contemporary works.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune is enthusiastic about the upcoming exhibitions.

"It is always exciting when our community has the opportunity to experience new artwork, and these exhibitions are no exception."

"I am keen to learn more about the artists Stephen Eastaugh and Carolina Furque's stories and their creative process when REMOTELYCLOSE is unveiled on opening night.

"Living Landscapes will also open on the same night, local curator Ingrid Horn has delved into the City's art collection to put together a fascinating selection of pieces that investigate the link between the land that sustains us and human impact."

"I encourage everyone to head down to GRAG to experience what I am sure will be a captivating pair of exhibits," added Mayor Clune.

REMOTELYCLOSE and Living Landscapes will be on display at GRAG from Saturday 27 April - Sunday 23 June.

Both REMOTELYCLOSE and Living Landscapes will officially open on Friday 26 April, tickets to this free event are available via Humanitix.

For Gallery opening times, check out the GRAG website.
