Sarajevo, a call for tenders for the construction of the “Ars Aevi” Museum of Contemporary Art

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has published a call for tenders inviting potentially interested entities to submit pre-qualification expressions of interest for the construction of the "Ars Aevi" Museum of Contemporary Art in Sarajevo. The call can be found at the following link. The deadline for expressions of interest is 22 April.

The "Ars Aevi" Museum project was conceived during the siege of the city to house works of art from the collection of the same name - as gifted by numerous international artists, with Italian national Michelangelo Pistoletto playing a leading role.

Italy has always been at the forefront in promoting such an initiative: the museum model itself was donated free of charge by the famous architect Renzo Piano, while the executive project for the construction was financed with funds from AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation). AICS has also ensured further financial resources for the start-up of the work, which will flow into a Multi-Donor Fund managed by UNESCO, to which the European Union will also contribute.

Please refer to the text of the call for further details on the eligibility requirements for participating entities. The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo is available to assist all entities that may be interested in the various stages of the selection procedure.
