UPDATE: Andrew County Route V to close tomorrow for resurfacing project

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Andrew County Route V is scheduled to close tomorrow, April 18 as part of a project focusing on resurfacing low volume roads. Herzog Contracting Corp., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will close the roadway daily from dawn to dusk in segments approximately 2 miles in length from Missouri Route 31 to Andrew County Route Z from Thursday, April 18 to Tuesday, April 23. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during the intermittent closures.

Crews also plan to begin resurfacing Buchanan Route Z on Wednesday, April 24. Resurfacing work on DeKalb Route F and DeKalb Route D is complete.

This project is scheduled to All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

These resurfacing projects are included as part of Gov. Parson's Rural Road program. With the Governor's signing of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, an additional $100 million in General Revenue is available for Missouri's low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, the Missouri Department of Transportation has identified 1,567 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition. These locations will receive resurfacing treatments of hot mix asphalt to improve the road conditions. The roads are being bundled into several large contracts across the state.
