Minister Dlamini Zuma speak to South African Women in Dialogue (SAWID) on the importance of Economic Transformation and Empowerment of woman

Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma engages with South African Women in Dialogue (SAWID) on Thursday 21 September 2023 in celebration of SAWID 20th anniversary. South African
Women in Dialogue is an inclusive, non-partisan and non-for-profit organisation committed to representing and amplifying the voices of South African women on all platforms where decisions are made.

Engagement with SAWID is part the Department Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) on going stakeholder engagement on Economic Transformation and Empowerment of Women. Participation of women in the economy is important as it gives
access, control over resources and enable females to earn an income. Although progress has been made on gender transformation more still needs to be done towards the emancipation of women, despite important gains in women rights and gender equality
significant barriers to the full realisation of women's economic, social, political and cultural rights remains.
