1st Avenue E Lane Reduction
Effective immediately, October 6, eastbound traffic on 1st Avenue E is reduced to one lane at 40th Street Drive SE for manhole repairs. Work is expected to take approximately three (3) days, weather permitting.
15th Avenue SW Lane Reduction
Effective Thursday, October 6, the 15th Avenue SW will be reduced to one lane between 12th Street and 18th Street for bridge maintenance. Work is expected to take two (2) days.
Lindale Trail Extension Project Update, Upcoming Traffic Impacts to Blairs Ferry Road and C Avenue NE to Begin Wednesday Night
Pavement, utility, signal and pedestrian work continues to move forward on the Lindale Trail Extension - Phase 1 project. Upcoming road closures along C Avenue NE and Blairs Ferry Road will be necessary to allow the contractor to continue work. Message signs will be placed five business days prior to the closures to alert local traffic of impacts and to anticipate travel delays.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5:
This project includes a tunnel underpass beneath Blairs Ferry Road. Traffic has been shifted to the north lanes of Blairs Ferry Road while crews prepare to place a culvert on the south side of the road. Water main has been relocated and private utility relocations are pending.
4th Avenue SE Closure at Railroad Tracks
Effective immediately, Tuesday, October 4, 4th Avenue SE is closed at the railroad tracks between 3rd Street and 5th Street for track maintenance performed by UP Railroad. Work is expected to take four (4) days. Access to businesses will be maintained.
8th Street SE Lane Reduction
Effective this afternoon, Tuesday, October 4, northbound traffic on 8th Street SE will be reduced to one lane between 4th Avenue and 3rd Avenue for utility work. Work is expected to take three (3) days.
Ellis Boulevard and F Avenue NW Intersection Closure for Roundabout Construction
Effective Wednesday, October 5, the intersection of Ellis Boulevard and E Avenue NW will open, and the intersection of Ellis Boulevard and F Avenue will close for construction of a roundabout in connection with the Ellis Boulevard and 6th Street NW Connector project. The work will take approximately three (3) months.

8th Avenue SE Upcoming Traffic Impacts Due to Mercy Skywalk Construction
Starting Monday October 3, work will begin on the construction of a skywalk across 8th Avenue SE for Mercy Medical Center. Alternating closures on 8th Avenue SE between 8th Street and 14th Street will take place over a 3-week period, and will include the following:
UPDATE: 12th Avenue Bridge Closure and Trail Detour
Effective Friday, September 30, the Cedar River Trail will be closed along the east side of the river between 8thAvenue and 16thAvenue SE, and will be temporarily detoured to 2ndStreet SE. Additionally, effective Tuesday, October 4, the 12th Avenue Bridge over the Cedar River will be closed to all traffic between 2nd Street SE and C Street SW for permanent flood control construction. Both will be effective until the spring of 2023.
51st Avenue NE Closure in 1800 Block
Effective immediately, Monday, September 26, the 1800 Block of 51st Avenue NE is closed between Council Street and Center Point Road for roadway improvements. Access to Theisen's and other properties is being maintained. Work is expected to take approximately one (1) month.
1st Avenue W Traffic Impact Updates
Starting Wednesday, September 6, 1st Street W will be closed to all traffic from 1st Avenue W to 2nd Avenue SW, and from 1st Avenue W to E Avenue NW, for permanent flood control construction. The closure is expected to be in place until fall of 2023. East/west traffic on 1st Avenue will be maintained.
This phase of permanent flood control construction includes relocating the 1st Avenue and 1st Street W intersection approximately 25 feet to the west to accommodate a future flood gate across 1st Avenue W. Additionally, 1st Street SW will be relocated westward, and 1st Street NW will be elevated over the top of the flood control system.

1st Avenue E Traffic Impacts
Oakland Road NE Construction Update | September 30
Current traffic impacts:
Utility work including storm sewer and water main is nearly complete on Old Marion Road between Golf Street to just north of 42nd Street. Most of the roadway area has been prepared for paving, which is anticipated to occur next week. Upon completion of the roadway paving, sidewalks and driveways will be installed, followed by grading and sodding.
8th Avenue SW Intersection Closure
Weather permitting, beginning Monday, August 29th, the intersection of 8th Avenue and Rockford Road SW will be fully closed for utility work and pavement reconstruction. This closure is associated with the 8th Avenue SW from 15th St to Rockford Road Improvements project and is expected to be in place until the end of September. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained from streets adjacent to the closure. A signed detour will be posted.Center Point Rd NE from Coe Rd to Lincoln Ave Construction Update | September 2

A Avenue NE Closure
Effective Monday, August 8, A Avenue NE will be closed between 10th Street and 11th Street for skywalk construction. Work is expected to take approximately six (6) months. Detour to be posted.
Tower Terrace Road NE Closure
Effective Monday, July 11, 2022, Tower Terrace Road NE will be closed between Center Point Road and Milburn Road for construction of the new I-380 interchange. Work is expected to take approximately four (4) months. Traffic to follow posted detour.
North Side Portion of Cedar Lake Trail Closed | October 26
The southern portion of Cedar Lake Trail was reopened Monday. The northern portion of the trail is now closed and will remain closed for approximately two years for construction of the flood control system. Click map showing closed section (red) and open section (green).
